Unfortunately I have found that 80% of prog fans dislike almost every other form of music (apart from Jazz Fusion maybe). I like Prog myself so I am not being biased but experience has lead me to think this way. Same goes for metalheads though too. I grew up with the genre and love it but damn there are some narrow minded idiots out there. Moreso than many other genres unfortunately. I grew up with them and got a lot of flak for branching out and listening to other genres so I just cut my hair and regretted it ever since. It never grew back

Frank Sinatra is depressing, along with all those other crooner types.
Bruce Springsteen= the most bland music ever with the second worst voice in rock, the worst being Bob Dylan. Dylan- I only like his songs when they're done by someone else. Glad Cobain did himself in. It ended the worst band ever. The solo in Free Bird is the most horribly repetitive thing ever. Hey Jude goes on too long with all those na, na na's U2 i don't get the big deal. REM bores the crap outta me. Nickelback invented NASCAR rock for all those country music listeners and now they think that's what real rock sounds like. 90's R&B- sappy ballads warbled out by female screechers. yuck. |

Your opinion on dylan hurts me. And I like the Free Bird Solo.
But I agree on the rest of it. I should add that Springsteen has some really nice songs. Just not the ones you hear about. Try Spirit in the Night. It is a nice song . Don't do the youtube live versions, find an album version

Yes it sounds happy, but it sounds happy in a way that makes you feel like he has to smile because there's twenty guys with kalashnikov's in front of the podium to shoot him if he stops smiling. Kind of like this guy:
As far as I know, Sinatra was somewhat a cover for the mafia.

Can't say I ever got that feeling from Sinatra, I've always liked his voice. So it's not the most fun filled voice ever, it's still not depressing...
Nirvana definitely was not the worst band ever. Other threads in this forum have shown that this is not a matter of opinion, it is simply a fact that there are some "bands" out there that should be shot for recording. Given that Nirvana contributed quite a bit to music in general in a positive fashion, I don't think they fall into that category.
