I just feel it's pretty idiotic - surely they could have chosen words with similar phoneticisms

orr used another language

I don't think you are meant to take it too seriously though. It's just a bit of fun at times, and I doubt most people even stop to think about the meaning.

That section is definitely for fun, it's not meant to be serious at all.

Also, regarding the quote of my post talking about Leonard Coen - I have nothing against poety in music. In fact, I'm not quite sure what it was in my post that you were objecting to. Anything truly phenomenal that Coen did was praised not for its musicality, but for the poetry of his lyrics. I have never heard anyone say "yeah, his lyrics are good, but damn, what a voice".

What's my point? Ok, you could argue that he plays something that could be called music. You could argue that his poetry is just the major part of his music, but when it comes down to it, the one really really good thing about him is his poetry, and that is what is always focused on. thus, it is more fair to call him a poet than it ever would be to call him a musician, as he was obviously far, far better at the former than the latter.

People dont listen to Classical because they enjoy it, they do it because they are pretentious and think it makes them seem more intelligent than non listeners.

I think that's a pretty popular opinion actually. But like most viewpoints which presume to know what someone else's motivations are, I find it pretty suspect.

I based it from another forum I was on, where there was a comparison thread asking whether people preferred Classical or Rap music (I have no idea why this was the comparison tbh). There was an overwhelming number that said Classical over Rap so I took it to mean I had an unpopular opinion. The popularity of any of these is dependant on the demographic you say it to though I guess as well.

Wow, that's a hell of a generalization. Don't you think?

ORRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr.... you just don't enjoy it? And for some reason that makes you angry towards those who do?

Piper at the Gates of Dawn is the worst Pink Floyd album I've heard, and I've heard most of them

I certainly wouldn't say that "Classical" (in quotation marks as it's a horrible generalisation in itself) music is only listened to by pretentious snobs. I happen to quite like a number of classical pieces, as I find that they can be very Emotive and Satisfying to listen to, and also to perform: Fauré's Requiem, any number of Bach's Cantatas...
