I never said they were too hyped, I just said some people are incredibly obsessed with them. They are talented musicians and I'll admit I have moods where their music really clicks with me, but for the most part I can't just pop on a Wilco album and be guaranteed that I want to actually listen to it.

I don't care about hype, I don't like or dislike a band any more nor less.
I think it only applies to over exposure and the only times I've heard Wilco have been on my own terms, so I'm not bothered. They aren't a band I listen to a lot, I hardly ever listen to them but they are damn talented. I'll have to give all of Uncle Tupelo's albums a listen before I can agree with your unpopular opinion but No Depression sounded great. I'll give that one a relisten tonight. |

Liz Phair is the blandest musician on the planet Tycho isn't actually that bad. It's something to listen to during the five year gap between BOC albums The Tragically Hip aren't as bad as people say they are. I occasionally find myself enjoying their music The most overrated band of all time? Arcade Fire. |

You don't hear as much about them now, but around the releases of Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and a Ghost is Born they were one of those critical darling, hyped to the heavens type of bands.

Well I have to agree with you on that one.
Seriously, I'm not sure which band I think is most overrated, but I think U2 and the Stones score very high for me. I never really liked either of them, apart from the occasional song.
