You'll find that many here also like Wire - myself included. You've got some strange thinking going on up there, I must say.

I dig the Talking Heads and Wire, though I'm not sure liking either is all that strange.
As for unpopular picks (or at least uncool), I have to admit that I love ABBA: Incredible hooks/melodies, underrated production values, just the quintessential pop band. And if you listen to songs such as "Under Attack" or "The Day Before You Came", there's no doubt they could have been an excellent synthpop band had they stayed together/gone that route in the '80s. |

What. I got bored after one verse, This goes on for 6 Minutes? I thought rap was meant to be about the meaning of the lyrics and how it all "relates", yo. As the chorus of this masterpiece, we have: Do the smurf, Do the wop, Baseball bat Rooftop, like I'm bringin '88 back This means what, exactly? And stop the press, hold on there a second. Did he just? Why yes, he just quoted The goddamn Safety Dance. While that wins some insanity points, it... pretty much lowers everything else. The back track is basically just a beat with a bit of distortion as a platform for the lyrics, which is fine... if the lyrics are any good. Yeah he's got decent rhythm (some of the time) and the rhymes are alright, but seriously: We know who this be, it's me, no secrets Stuck to the beat and glued to the sequence Igloos than we is You can catch us walkin on the weekend While you awkwardly breathin From all the second hand smoke What does this mean. I mean really, what? That's just a random excerpt from the list of equally nonsensical lyrics that I found for this monstrosity. I quite like some Rap, if it makes sense, it flows, and there's a point to it. But this? This is just rubbish, mangled together and put to a beat. Yeah, Haters gonna hate, cause it's bollocks.

And while we're on the disco tip... Yvonne Elliman, anyone? ("If I Can't Have You") Irene Cara? Sister Sledge? Lipps, Inc.? ...I swear, I was never a denizen of Studio 54, but I did grow up in the '70s.
