I think that one's debatable. Some bands sound great on record but can be mediocre live, while other bands can sound mediocre on record and sound great live. There's no real right or wrong answer.

yeah. also, adding to this point, I like Phish's studio album better than their live shows, although some of them are beastly.

Yeah, I would agree with that, so I guess I really should say that I think most of the bands I listen to are way better live . Although I do think there's a lot of bands that are great live but most people still only listen to their studio work (like Led Zeppelin, The Doors or Cream). And with all those bands I think both are good, I just think it's ridiculous that some people ignore their amazing live stuff.

For Phish, depends on the album imo. If we're talking Junta, then I'd gladly hear that over any of the live stuff. But Billy Breathes, Farmhouse and the like are good, just not quite up to par with the inventiveness they bring live.

No way bro. Tired of Sex is by far the best song they've ever written.

Weezer never did anything amazing enough or contributed anything worthwhile to music to justify all the talk about them.

Yes they did, they're an absolute joke of a band NOW.
But there was a time when they actually wrote great songs and made great music.

For me, that's their second best song. Tired of Sex is pretty much the perfect Power Pop song.

Led Zeppelin were notorious for being extremely sloppy live.
