Bob Dylan's "Brownsville Girl" is a friggin' awesome song, and I will stand by it until the day I die. It's got cheezy production which I normally hate and ugly backing vocals, but I love that song.

It should be noted that that's not at all an unpopular opinion among hardcore Bob Dylan fans - most other people I've talked to who are also as much into Dylan as I am seem to share the sentiment - but among most people, it's considered one of the best examples of how much Bob Dylan sucked in the 80's. Of course, you'd have to be pretty messed up in the head to be as big of a Dylan fan as I am, and I freely admit that

The rest of Knocked Out Loaded is extremely terrible, though, and that's not an unpopular opinion to anybody.

Hating on Radiohead has been just as popular as loving them for a while now. Where have you been?

Among my friends there is some radiohead worship. So I guess it's unpopular just in my circle..

It's funny nobody I hang out with likes Radiohead like that. Yet again I don't hang out with pretenious indie fans, most of my friends are either metalheads, mallrats a.k.a. gawth, a few ravers, and a few preppish people who listen to whatever is on the radio/billboard charts.

I don't have a clue what my friends listen to.

I think they're too scared to tell me.

I have three distinct circles of friends, The Uber Indie kids and the Post Rawkers, the Nevershoutnever-core dorks, and the Top-40-ers.The Uber Indie Kids And the Post Rawkers are into the less popular kinds of music, and are usually cool. Though, some friends in this circle (mostly the uber indie side) like making fun of my rather mainstream tastes in music by changing the names of the artists on an MP3 to a fictional band, just to appear more indie than me when they scrobble to LFM. They usually have 1000 different artists and laugh at my rather mainstream 92 artists. The next group, The Top 40 Goers, listen to whatever chart trance is being hyped at the moment and absolutely hate my favourite kinds of music. The last group, the Nevershoutnever-Core Dorks, can be quite annoying to some as they only blast BrokeNCYDE and worship whoever that nevershoutnever kid is.

Which brings me to my unpopular opinion:
The nevershoutnever core dorks aren't that bad, their music is tolerable but never enough to write home about.

This reminds me that I do not miss high school. I've always listened to whatever I want and I got **** for it all the time. You have mainstream tastes? You freaking kidding? I tell people who throw that at me they are just being stupid. Sure, there are plenty of manufactured crap bands that get mainstream attention, but there are also lots of bands that are mainstream because they are actually good.

I may be a pretentious ass hole when it comes to music, but I will never knock someone for liking a certain band. They like them for some reason...I may try to expose them to different music, but who am I to knock them for their taste? I reserve that kind of stuff for newbs that post here (and even then, I bit my tongue most of the time).

Man, I'm glad I don't have to deal with that crap anymore.
