It's not unpopular in real life, but I actually disagree, it may sound the same, but I do like the fact, that as cliche as it sounds, the singers actually do sound passionate and pained, it's great for when you are feeling shitty or angsty.

"Baby" by Justin Bieber DEFINED my second semester last year. I will defend that song to the day I die. I don't love it or anything, but I've got a soft spot for it. I don't care how poor the rest of his work happens to be.
Also, I'm not sure of anybody's opinion on TMV here but it's usually severely negative where I go, so Frances the Mute is utterly great and I feel that much of the hate TMV is rooted in Pitchforkdom, At The Drive-In nostalgia, and indie pop wishes. Or something... |
