here are some unpopular opinions:
panda bro > Anco
These new puritans is a good band
Hella is trying too hard to be The Mars Volta now
Math Rock is a slowly dying genre that needs more artists.

I disagree with them all, especially the Hella one!

have you heard "there's no 666 in outer space"? one song on there is like a hipster's version of TMV. Hella's first album is a classic, though.

also, you don't like These New Puritans?
I think they're awesome.

I dunno. My unpopular opinion, I guess, is that Pitchfork is fine. They're a magazine tailored to a specific clientele and serve the needs of that clientele very well.
If anything they hype bands undeserving of as much attention, and turn people away from other good bands (because of bad reviews - not hip enough or something). They have a huge herd of sheep. But this is no different from any other mag, this one just happens to be one of the most well-known.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

Really?

See to me, music didn't start getting good until about 2001/2003. Prior to that we were still locked in "movement" music and genre dominance. Thank god Steve Jobs made downloads trackable and available so we could free ourselves from the death grip of major labels.
