So is The Hammer Party if you think of it as a collection of songs rather then a cohesive album.

Yes to both of these.

Oh and I actually do like the Postal Service (not unpopular), but don't like any other electronica based anything.

I found Off The Wall didn't really work for me on any level though that's mainly due to my unremitting hatred of most disco (there are quite a few disco songs I like but the whole aesthetic on a whole album just kills me).

Bad had no real clunkers on the album (and a song left off -Streetwalker- is a killer track as well) but it was more of a continuation of Thriller and didn't have that freshness. Dangerous could have had five or six songs cut and if that happened it would have been a really strong album. One of the reasons I think it's not well regarded is the first two singles were mediocre at best. Invincible has about 7 excellent songs but the rest of the album makes me want to bash my head into a wall.
No-one said Off The Wall being better than Thriller and Bad was an unpopular opinion, that was just part of the resulting discussion. The unpopular opinion was that Bad was better than Thriller.

1. Yes.

2. They seemed kind of overrated to me.

3. Oh, fuck you!

4. Yes.

I've always been of this opinion.

Yeah. and Waffle, 47, Theo B, Waffle, J'nuh, Rodeo Jones...all amazing. I rate both albums equally, but as far as number of songs that really strike a chord with me and give me chills, this album wins.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I don't think that opinion is too unpopular among Sunny Day fans. I've heard that a lot. Personally, I think Diary is the best music they've made and I probably even like How It Feels to be Something On more than the pink album (which I also like).

Hmm..."twice as" is a strong statement. I'm not sure I agree. "Better" maybe but I like them both about the same.

I definitely agree with this. The first EPs may be my favorite BB.

Here's mine: Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star and Washing Machine are my 2 favorite Sonic Youth albums.

I have a soft spot for 'Experimental Jet Set, Trash and No Star' and 'Washing Machine' is definitely among my favorite SY albims, very high on the list. Great album, the best of their 90s stuff for sure.

I have to admit that Experimental Jet Set is my least favourite of their albums, with the exception of Rather Ripped. It does have a decent number of good songs, but I still much prefer most of their other work.

this will probably be unpopular considering all the "better album" talk, but
Sonic Youth sucks! sorry. Noise-type music is just a contradiction and I can't stand it.
