Ah I see, well I agree with that, Pitchfork sucks tremendously (although I admit some bands they like I do like as well)

the only reason I'm not punching their faces in right now:
Pitchfork: Album Reviews: Boards of Canada: Music Has the Right to Children

the reason why i might just punch in their faces:
Pitchfork: Album Reviews: Aphex Twin: Drukqs

^DRUKQS IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITES, DUDES!

Who ****ing cares what Pitchfork thinks?

They gave Deceit a 9, should I stop listening to This Heat entirely cause they DARE touch on one of the greatest albums ever? No, I don't give a ****

Agreed. Pitchfork sucks. By and large all album reviews suck, because well, the reviewer isn't you... I think people should just like what they like for whatever reasons they have, not because "pitchfork, etc... says its really good".

I agree, just because someone you don't like/respect doesn't like it, doesn't mean you shouldn't like it. That's ridiculous

I actually think Pitchfork is a decent site for discovering new music. That doesn't mean a low grade stops me from listening to an album, but you know, some of the BNM music is pretty good. Alot of it sucks too, no doubt about that.

Well, they do throw out alot of names... maybe if you just don't read the reviews and listen to the music they post on their site, and disregard any commentary, they are approaching usefulness...

Pitchfork is silly and reading it is for teh lulz but indie is such a broad term that it has been rendered meaningless. Referring to every band signed to an indie label as "good" or "bad" is kind of ridiculous.

I'm with you though, pitchfork-core isn't my thing either. And I also hate modern folk.

I'd never heard of Pitchfork until I came here, lulz.

I don't care what other people think about albums, I want to figure that out on my own

I guess we can't completely hate on Pitchfork because they help people discover new albums and do precisely that.....
