Agreedo.
I miss the days when music had you know, showmanship. Whatever happened to that? Now it's just a bunch of hipster chodes in a constant state of looking disinterested and trying to be all "simple" in their fashion and mannerisms despite making a sh*tload of money off of their crappy music so it wouldn't hurt them to spend a little money on making their live shows look professional. Because honestly I have no interest in going to live shows if the only difference is that the music is more sloppy, more irritatingly loud and a bunch of obnoxious c*nts are constantly in my space. |

I love lo-fi folk rock...apparently it's an unpopular opinion here.

Sebadoh and Guided by Voices for starters.
I do like Pavement and Dinosaur Jr though. |

Haha fair enough man... I won't pretend to understand how one could NOT like GBV though! To me they're the perfect quirky, intelligent pop band. They've been a favourite of mine for years though so I'm probably biased...

I just don't like their sound at all, to me it just sounds like generic "alt rock" that any garage band with a week of musical experience could start cranking out to me.
But to give some credit to Sebadoh, Barlow is a pretty good bass player. |

the only ones i don't are all of those math rock groups like hella and some of tyondai braxton's early early early work (like his song "stand there" off of the split album "rise rise rise"). but i mainly don't hate tyondai because everything he touches is genius to me. and i mainly don't hate math rock because i grew up on don cab, and a crapload of post rock. |
