You're an idiot. The Wall is neither godawful or influenced by acid (Floyd were rather sober in later years) but even so most of the best musicians are high and straight edge is a bunch of crap.

Okay, I am an idiot.
I still hate Pink Floyd, though. Therefore, all other opinions of mine are invalid.

You said it not me and I also like that you list "crappy local bands" among your interests, at least you're honest.

Oooh, you do your research. Bravo.
Oh, and I can at least agree that straightedge is a load of crap. I'm not inclined to giving up coffee, or alcohol, or any other mind-bending substances. I just think using drugs as your main creative tool is a load of crap. I'm not going to retract my opinion because that's horse****, but I can at least say now that I hate Pink Floyd a little less. However, next time I decide to get high and someone suggests listening to The Wall on vinyl, I might have an aneurysm.

Yeah I wouldn't recommend that. I don't do drugs myself but if I took acid, listening to depressing music would probably lead to a nasty trip.
I have nothing against musicians who use drugs for inspiration and most of my favorite musicians have at some point, hell even as something as bad cocaine, it deserves a little credit for the Berlin trilogy. But really, drugs only work as good artistic inspiration if you're already artistic. It's not gonna turn Nickelback into The Beatles or anything. |
