"Shame" You're gonna walk on home You're gonna walk alone You're gonna see this through Don't let them get to you Sh Sh Sh Sh Shame Love is good and love is kind Love is drunk and love is blind Love is good and love is mine Love is drunk all the time Sh Sh Sh Sh Shame You're gonna walk on home You're gonna walk alone You're gonna walk so far You're gonna wonder who you are Sh Sh Sh Sh Shame Love is good and love is kind Love is good and love is blind Love is good and love is mine Love is good all the time Hello goodbye, you know you made us cry... "Vanity" You can hear the baby bones Cracked beneath her wheels Tears of Avalon Streak silent down her shield High crimes and misdemeanors Unfortunate attacks Will leave you standing nameless While she's turning black Vanity stands naked at my door Vanity cries, why? Eleanor, you've lost me in a haze Of wine and cocaine Gone out and cost me Everything I blame Broadcasting in TV detail To call their own stories As I try to recapture The best and former glories Vanity stands naked at my door Vanity cries, why? Vanity wants everything and more Vanity must die She swears she'll turn around Turn around for good She swears she'll turn around Turn around for sure You know you'll run around Run around for her You know you want to know Pure Ease on that dirt road You've still a ways to go Soak in sights and city lights While you still can borrow Cursed fall we'll find you And bring a memory The ghost of her surrender And a kiss of anarchy She's naked at my door Vanity cries, why? Vanity wants everything and more Vanity must die Yeah...what was your point again?

it had pretty much been his show after Superunknown hit and it was pretty apparent regardless of the credits. i call Never the Machine Forever a highlight because it's the ONLY track on the album that actually sounds like Soundgarden. everything else on the album just sounds like it's trying to sound like Soundgarden but forgot how to either turn on the amps or twist the knobs past weak. as for the reunion - if you guys haven't checked out the Nude Dragons setlist from April... Spoonman 'Gun 'Searching With My Good Eye Closed 'Rusty Cage 'Beyond The Wheel 'Flower 'Ugly Truth 'Fell On Black Days 'Hunted Down 'Nothing To Say 'Loud Love 'Blow Up The Outside World 'Pretty Noose 'Outshined 'Slaves And Bulldozers Encore: 'Get On The Snake' 'Big Dumb Sex' 'Waiting For The Sun' (a DOORS cover) surprising pile of old stuff. the reunion site emailed a HD clip of 'Beyond the Wheel' a while back and they nail it. 9 songs from the 80s. though as far as classic rock covers go, i always liked their take on Communication Breakdown best, though i can see them doing a wicked job on Waiting for the Sun as well. |

Soundgarden's career was one big progression. No two albums sound the same. It was Cornell's show after Superunknown? I don't think so. It was a BAND EFFORT. This isn't Smashing Pumpkins were talking about. Everyone contributed to the overall sound. |

Machina II, on the other hand, sounded like everything the Pumpkins should have been at the time. They could rock while maintaining that musician's edge. If I had to point to one single sound that I could have hoped they would have held on to for a couple albums, it would be Machina II. Adore definitely proved Billy has incredible songwriting talent, but Machina II showed he could do it within the context he put forth as a band.

Seriously? Audioslave more exciting than Soundgarden? Oh man, no way. What from Soundgarden have you heard?
