i'd take anything he said more seriously if his username wasn't an obvious reference to pushing the opinion that the only good music besides Dylan came out of the UK in the late 60s / early 70s (or sounded exactly like it did as in Oasis' case).

Or...

Like, which is how I feel. But I kind of agree, there doesn't seem to be middle ground with most people. But I like them, learnt a couple of songs of theirs on guitar and stuff, bring out their albums now and again..

As I said I'm making a point about the 80's. I'm sure with some thought there are probably 10-15 artists/bands who were good in the 80's, but compared to any other decade, including the 50's, that's friggin' pitiful. Obviously the 00's were mostly crap but at least we didn't have to bear through that atrocious 80's production... the same old synths, the same old snares, the same cheesy reverb... and that spanned genres. The Smiths, there's another good 80's group.

"A Certain Romance", "When The Sun Goes Down", "Crying Lightning", "Brianstorm", etc. etc. Great band. And there's more

Solo George tried to be too complex structurally and melodically in his solo stuff. Put me to sleep. If I want to listen to art rock I'll... no, I just won't.

"Radiohead is for people who slit their wrists and are scared of a good rhythm. A few sad/forlorn songs is alright to keep a career interesting but who wants to be the Wes Craven of rock and roll? Mind you that I think some of their work is fantastic, namely their first two albums, but I'm more into uplifting music" <--from earlier post

The Beatles are number one, Zeppelin is number two... don't see how that's not obvious lol

I really have nothing to say against Dylan. Too many good songs/projects. He might be a tad overrated in the fact that SO many people suck his **** but other than that he's amazing

Queen is crap? That's a laugh

Modern indie rock is for hipsters with no rhythm. Full stop
Your cool

My two phases were similar but more like this:

p1 - This band is supposed to blow my mind.

p2 - But they're only just okay.

Your right because I didn't mention Michael Jackson, Prince, Vampire Weekend, a Gwen Stefani tune, The Smiths, to name a few. They're all UK music from the 60's/70's right?

For me, it was kind of the opposite. I grew with Zeppelin constantly playing in the background of my childhood without ever really paying attention to them. This year, all of the sudden, I went on a Classic Rock binge for pretty much the first time ever and decided that Zeppelin is utterly amazing and one of my favorite bands.

But you may still be right. Ask me again in a year.

Lol. Every single member of that band is one of the most iconic players/performers of that instrument/singing in rock history, one of the most successful groups of all time from any country, and are one of the few bands along with the Beatles who can claim to possibly have created several genre's simply out of the music.

On top of that they're just plain great to listen to.

Shouldn't the onus be on you to explain how this opinion is laughable?

Well it seems a bit curlish to suggest the Stones are rubbish because they rip off the blues and then list Led Zeppelin as one of the best bands ever.

Do you not see this?
