Do you honestly believe that? Your average music fan (and even some of the more informed ones) usually have no idea who he is, including his tenure with Faith No More.

Fans overrating artists they love is nothing new...but you know, even as a casual listener of Patton's stuff for the most part, I can say without hesitation that he is unarguably a hell of a lot more creative than most of the bands that people vomit accolades around here about.

I think Irony Is A Dead Scene is relatively boring where the playing of instruments is concerned. Mike Patton's vocals are the star of the show, and the main selling point.

Still a pretty damn good EP though.

well, i know what you mean when you say not alot of people know him, but tbh alot of the people i know who do put him up as this second coming of music or something. i'm not saying he isn't creative or that he doesn't deserve praise for what he does, just that he isn't some kind of music messiah.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

I think the Stones' Country Honk is actually a pretty good song.

Just thought I'd get that off my chest.

I was waiting for someone to say that

Don't get me wrong, I don't think it's anywhere near on par with the title track, Monkey Man, Love In Vain etc (mind you, not many songs I've heard are), I just kinda like it.

There are multiple versions...I just went to Amazon to sample it (because I don't know most songs by name) and it sounded really backwoods...and I was going to agree with you. Then I realized this isn't the version commonly heard...that version I've heard 9,999,999,999,999 times and would prefer not to hear again. But the backwoods one (the original, maybe?) is pretty good. I like most of the country-ish Stones songs I've heard.

My browser's being a pain in the arse and won't let me access that link there, but that's not the version with no fiddle in it is it? If so, it's pretty good stuff. I do like the fiddle on the album version though, which thinking about it is probably what gets on so many fans' nerves. I can see how it might have that nails on a chalkboard effect to some though.
