Autotune and other vocal effects are great when they're used in electronic, psychedelic, prog music because they have a cosmic sound to them that's really cool. But the way it's overused in pop music (which is probably intended to hide the singer's lack of talent more than it is to suit the music) is incredibly annoying. |

in terms of being more advant garde, yeah, but i found Freak Out! fairly hit or miss compared to the latter
also, New Found Glory and Sum 41 are talented bands(i'm saying this as a musician)

I like Zappa's fusion stuff the most of anything he's done.
The Grand Wazoo is amazing. |

i disagree, loudly. had you said Hybrid Theory and Meteora, I would've agreed. Reanimation wasn't consistent enough and the remixes were generally a bit naff, Collision Course was fairly average and Minutes To Midnight was just plain ****ing awful.

Immensely unpopular opinion:
I love Zappa's Sheik Yerbouti and Joe's Garage. It's mostly due to good memories I have listening to the albums while smoking copious amounts of marijuana with my best friend many years ago. |
