Mighty is an apt description. LOVE it and on some days I consider it their best album.

It has a certain... oh what's that word? When something is there and you can see it? Tip of my tongue... oh yeah.
Situational existence.

Achilles is one of their very best songs but I dunno Presence is still my least favorite (unless you count Coda), none of the other songs are by any means bad (well ok Hots On For Nowhere is pretty bad) but it just sounds like Zep are going through the motions and not trying anything new. It's still a pretty good album, it's just their laziest in my opinion.
Dare I say it? I actually like In Through the Out Door more.

Honestly I think In Through the Out Door is underrated in general. I've always liked it when they went a bit more outside of the hard rock/blues thing and I'm a sucker for rock bands embracing synths.

The synth JPJ used on that album was a Yamaha GX-1, if you've ever seen that thing you know it's a f*cking beast, it had built in foot pedals like an organ and it weighed a ton, Keith Emerson didn't call it a roadie's nightmare for nothing, Stevie Wonder is probably it's most famous user, he used it all over Songs in the Key of Life and called it the Dream Machine.
JPJ was also one of the first musicians to own a Fairlight CMI, though I don't know if he ever used it on record, would have been interesting to hear how Led Zeppelin adapted to 80s technology to say the least.

Sorry, one thing you need to know about me is that I obsessively edit my posts like 20 times before I'm satisfied with them, it really annoys some people.
