Zeppelin tried giving them a kick in the arse. Their 73 album Silk Torpedo was the first UK release on Zep's new record label Swan Song.

The Stones are generally hit or miss for me. Honestly my favorite tracks of theirs are usually the least Stones-y ones, like the Satanic Majesties album. I also adore "Fingerprint File" and kinda wish they did more of that kind of sleazy funk rock.
