They came a little later. The songs I heard on MuchMusic weren't bad.

Don't forget De La Soul too. Those guys were smooth.

The best part of De La Soul was always Prince Paul, the producer. He's madly underrated.

E.g. his work with Gravediggaz

Tribe was always better than De La Soul, here's one of their best tracks, produced by the inimitable J Dilla

I'll admit, these guys were able to come up with some of the best stage names.

R&B went downhill during disco, Michael, Elvis and The Beatles are overrated. Marvin Gaye's last classic album is Let's Get It On

Me liking Hair Metal can be taken as an unpopular opinion according to some people, especially if I happen to like Alternative rock at the same time, in which both fanbases simply make it seem like its impossible to like both, even though I rather respect Alternative rock in its own rights rather then treating it like its superior.

And yes, I have overtime, grew lenient to hair metal especially starting around December 2021-February 2022 I believe(not sure when, but its somewhere around that time) and is now a Hair Metal fan.

Alternative Rock isn't really a thing though. It's just a name used to describe all of rock that doesn't fit the "hard" genre, and is kinda poppy sometimes.

I never liked the term Alternative Rock either. It was just slang for what's popular as opposed to actually good. Bands like Nirvana and Soundgarden were the exception, not the rule.
