TBH In Utero takes their "trying too hard to sound edgy" to cartoon territory at times.

I mean "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter" couldn't be any more "We're not a pop band, we're a **** you band" while not actually being an interesting song at all.

Yeah, that's fair. I guess I think of something else when I hear "edgy"

Maybe? I tend to think of it as "life is pain" death metal nonsense. Having an anti-authority element as Nirvana did is teenager-y but edgy I fee like is just that one kid who watches too much anime and jerks off to Fight Club.

I don't know maybe you never overcame being a 90s kid. Cause Nirvana's emotional quality is definitely edgy and try hard. Death metal is just angry nerd who wants to punch ****.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.

I don't know that I've ever thought of myself as a "90's kid." I rest of my college days a lot more, and that was the indie rock heyday of like...'03 to '13. From Elephant to AM .

Now it isn't. I think it was when pushing back against the Reagan America that had infected the suburbs.
