Just listened to it and read the 2.4/10 review on pitchfork.

Like the LPD record I like how you find these new gems by old school bands that deserved more love then and still do.

I wouldn't rank it that high but it's definitely dope.

Made me think of what my favourite rock record of the last 20 years is, some contenders are
Old Time Relijun - Lost Light
Mamaleek - Come and See
System of a Down - Toxicity
Pulgas - Pulgas
The Thing - Bag It!
Moss Lime - Zoo du Québec

And pretty much everything that OOIOO and Oxbow dropped in the past two decades if they count. Is Blackstar a rock album?

Arrington de Dionyso's vocals are hella inspired by Mark Stewart but otherwise, nah. I see more Beefheart and Contortions influence in the bigger picture.

You could say that Citizen Zombie is a discount Pop Group album (that's what everyone was hung up on when it was released) but it's just them taking a different angle.

Hells ja, they nailed it on that album. Honeymoon on Mars shows how bad it really could have been.

It’s far from my favorite album

But it’s the winner of that category

Mark Stewart's solo stuff is almost as good as TPG.

If you had a white dude rap over this it could be an early Def Jux release.

Mezmerize is a better album than Toxicity.

No. So please excorsize that idea from your dumb head. I say this as a lifelong hater of Staind.
