They're both but lean closer to groove than nu. They don't fit cleanly under either umbrella tbh, I say we just call them extreme pop metal and call it good.

I don't really remember industrial in any form ever being core to nu metal. I think you're full of ****.

considered the quintessential nu metal band next to Korn.
By idiots. They're a quintessential 90s/00s alt metal band and some people just don't know what nu metal is so they throw the tag around like it's going out of style (which thankfully it has).

The only case you've made is that you don't know what nu metal is and should stick to hip hop until you've educated yourself properly on sub-genre Nazism.

Then it's just one of those stupid things where an artist can be both and there really is no reason to get all that pedantic about me calling them nu metal other than to be a twat.

I want to go back to the punk being about anger thing. I still think it's stupid and reductive to say it's a genre about being angry.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Okay but.

So you don't know what constitutes as nu metal and are just being a **** about it to be a **** about it while I DO know what is nu metal.

I didn't argue on Rob Zombie not being nu metal. Him and Manson are just artists I associate with the genre but Slipknot is definitely nu metal.

Nah, Linkin Park are like The Last Nu Metal Band. They were too far removed from the genre's roots to have any kind of, uh... authenticity and just ended up sounding like a watered down version of everything that had happened five years earlier.

But this is about as nu metal as it gets.

True enough, but they just aren't what I think of when I think nu metal. I feel they fit the alternative metal tag better than Slipknot.

When pointing out how most people think of Slipknot as the definitive nu metal band, it's important to remember that they're also the definitive screamo band for most casual listeners.

Fine extreme pop metal. Slipknot fans get really upset when you call Slipknot pop too which is extra fun.
