That included Slipknot based exactly on the description I gave.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Then he's not correct because that would mean Slipknot is nu metal not just alternative metal (which covers nu metal btw) even if you think it's groove metal contrary to what everybody else classifies them as which is nu metal.

I'd say that their nu metal components come from groove metal more than an affinity with the nu metal movement.

Your description was bunk though. You're just describing alternative metal as if nu metal is a synonym when it isn't. I don't listen to Slipknot cause they suck but my memory is that the hip hop influence is kind of minimal and they're more about alt metal infused with a hodgepodge of thrash metal, death metal, and grindcore. Influences that are not really present in most nu metal besides liberal thrash sprinklings in some bands. It's the hip hop and funk influences welded onto metal that are core to nu metal.

That's because groove metal was a huge influence on nu metal. If you want to have a petty pedantic wikipedia battle on this.

Oh wow, see how Slipknot is in the list of Numetal bands and not the Groove metal bands that influenced numetal?

And industrial. Hip hop funk and industrial. They're a bit more extreme than most nu metal but they're still nu metal and considered the quintessential nu metal band next to Korn.

I don't think Slipknot was a groove metal band. Or that you've made a good enough case to say that I'm wrong about calling them nu metal at the very least.

And they put Linkin Park in there too. You have a point with that one.
