Chicken nuggets are awesome but someone who only listens to Beefheart wouldn't be very interesting either.

imho the goal isn't knowing the most about music, the goal is to find music you can relate to, that means something, finding stuff you will blow your socks off.

No idea if this is actually unpopular, but Sonic Youth should just have let Kim Gordon do all the vocals. Thurston is a terrible singer

I'll take you one further and say that they should've been instrumental since I find their vocals to be pretty uncharmingly and unintentionally bad. I get why they did it though.

I guess that would be even better, yeah. For me Kim's voice has a kind of sensuality that makes me appreciate her vocals, but strictly speaking she's kind of a bad singer too
