You find John Lennon's Beatle songs hard to relate to? That surprises me

I'm pretty sure the 'I used to be cruel to my woman' is Paul, and I'm certain that Taxman is George. I have the same problem with those lyrics obviously. But anyway, I get what you mean, but many of John Lennon's songs weren't hypocritical at all (take Run For Your Life for example) and you could sort of say the same about Lou Reed: his songs are sensitive and relatable even though he was a huge *******. He often was very honest about his misdemeanors in his songs, but John Lennon could be like that too

that's true, but don't you think there is a discrepancy between Lou Reed's character and his lyrics?

Imagine how amazing Lennon's music would have gotten if he had lived.

Double Fantasty was a good record but I don’t think he was getting better or likely to.

I listened to this again today. I was thinking Jesus this is probably better than anything even by MBV. It’s a very complete, beautiful, unassailable record.

Terrapin Station is such a blemish on the discography of The Grateful Dead that I might not be able to actually get over it.

Why? I'll admit to the second side being a bit better but that A side is one of the cringiest AOR sides in music and I wanted to throw up.
