Don't be so condescending.

We all know you ain't listened to 99.85 of those 100 that you don't like, don't even front.

Seems like he's going off of whatever's getting buzz across platforms with a mix of random stuff he wants to promote.

Fantano really only "likes" two things: hip-hop and Michael Gira. Anything outside of those two narrow windows he's generally Grade A clueless.

I dunno man during the times where I stayed off MusicBanter he was basically my only "music news" source and he turned me towards some really great albums that I wouldn't have checked out otherwise and they are definitely from neither of those two categories. Artists like Daughters, black midi, Weyes Blood, Sophie, Richard Dawson...found all of those through him and I love em all. I'm a pretty big fan/subscriber and watch most of his stuff

I like Fantano as an entertainer but if you're not into what's currently trending on the mainstream underground then following him closely is a waste of time. I do like his Let's Argue series.

Last i saw of him he was reviewing the nostalgia critics the wall album like that sht was worth reviewing. I dont draw alot of joy out of music reviewers even when we agree and they reaffirm my taste.

I did say "generally" clueless. I've found myself wincing a lot when he reviews metal.

Diamanda Galas is trite.

The Gerogerigegege >Ramones

Blues music isn't "the root" of Western music because of some magical innate quality, it just had the luck of being the popular folk music of the time when recording technology was introduced and was able to use that to reach an unprecedentedly large audience to influence.
