I don't have a hard on for Patti Smith but I say the biggest thing holding Horses back is that the piano isn't a full-on raucous Deep Purple Hammond organ. And White Light/White Heat is totally going for that ol' school rock n roll piano rag sound so what the **** you talkin' bout?

Decided to check out Gibbs' and Madlib's Bandana.
Had to turn it off after a couple of tracks. It's not just not good, it's actually kinda annoying. Basic-ass lame flows over okay-ish but still mediocre beats. Am I missing something?

The beats bang and it's a fun album. Very safe for Madlib, but Gibbs has pretty sharp delivery.
But you're not missing anything.

I don't know how unpopular this is, but I think producers, especially in hip hop, deserve much more publishing royalties and credit for what they do.

Credit for sure. Royalties? I have no idea. What are some examples?

I mean, it all depends on how much the producer is actually doing of course, but plenty of artists wouldn't have been **** with out the creative direction of their producer and they don't get nearly enough royalties for that. Of course there are rappers and such that are very hands on with the creative direction, which technically means they deserve producer credit themselves, but I've seen way too many rappers (ABK) that only succeed with the creativity of a producer.

ABK only succeeds because juggalos eat paint chips.

Half true. But ABK was made tolerable with proper production. Kind of like a vapid mumble rapper.
Which, I believe a lot of these artists such as Lil Pump owe a lot of their careers to their producers.
