Turn Off the Bright Lights is the only album from them I’ve ever heard but I’ve always liked it. I saw them live on tour for that album and actually thought they were pretty good live unlike the experience you had with them.

They just kind of slogged through their songs. Maybe it was an off night but there was just minimum effort.
