You can't just make the controls awful "boom avant gaming"
Silent Hill and older RE games had wonky controls specifically to add to the stress factor of the horror game. And there is Getting Over It.

I think the more 'avant' gaming games at this moment are the ones where they distort expectations. Games like Doki Doki Literature Club where you have to literally go into your folders and delete character files on it to advance the story. Most experimental games are ones that go back to older, simpler and basic designs and then flip them on your head.

There's also some of those 'unfair' platformers where they use the expectations that playing platformers gives you to **** with you. Like putting coins there just to kill you for collecting them.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Art Is Dead. Buy My ****.

As usual, I disagree with Elph about music.

Musicians for whom music is their primary artform. The thing they care about first and foremost. They make the best music.
Kind of a "well, duh" scenario, really.

How about making the example about professional, seasoned musicians instead?

Depends on what kind of seasoning you use.

That's how musicians have good taste.

Picturing some guys covered in paprika and garam masala when you say "seasoned musicians".
