Rockabilly is a lot like New Wave. Took existing conventions (RnB and Bluegrass/Hillbilly for Rockabilly, Punk and Electronic for New Wave) and smooshed them into something fun and catchy, yet arguably derivitive or "watered down". That being said, I love both.

New wave is pretty diverse though. There are like 8 rockabilly songs.
