Different animals imo. I don't go to Sleep for energy (lulz not intended) like I do for High on Fire.

People who only strum on acoustic guitars need to be executed, preferably by slowly roasting in a campfire while their stupid friends sing along. They're capable of so much more than that, it's disrespectful.

Not really an opinion, but more of a feeling that's been growing inside me.
Ok, so it's kind of an opinion in that way. Just not one I'm 100% settled on yet. Here's the thing: I'm so used to thinking of myself as a metalhead and checking out metal news very often. I've still got some black band t-shirts that I wear at times as well. But I think that I'm kind of tired of metal. I think metal is boring, basically. Often even really, really, really damn tedious. I never find new metal acts that I like anymore - I just keep up with some favorites. I'm not saying that I'm suddenly going to sell all of my metal, but probably some of it over the next few years... It's not about new metal coming out now being boring. It's the classics too. All boring. Especially extreme metal. I don't think it's just a phase. It's been simmering in the back of my mind for a long while. I could get into why it's so boring, but that would probably be difficult to talk about. |
