- Blink 182's Dude Ranch and Chesire Cat are great albums.

- Layne Staley is one of the best vocalists of all time.

- Mudhoney is one one of the greatest bands to come out of the Grunge movement.

- Weezer's Pinkerton is insanely underrated.

- Arctic Monkeys suck.

- Group Sex is the greatest punk album.

- Nirvana is overrated for the wrong reasons.

- The Number 12 Looks like you has one of the most insane drummers ever.

- Porcupine Tree's drummer is better than Neil Pert.

i agree with the Layne Staley and blink-182

i somewhat agree about Nirvana, although i'm still not really into them

haven't heard that Weezer album yet

i'm not too knowledgable about drums, so that Neil Pert/PT thing is whatever to me. same w/ Group Sex, The Number 12

the dead kennedy's are terrible--and jello's a total douche
the clash didn't really have any kind of message at all
talking heads--I've said enough about the talking heads
thin lizzy owns led zeppelin(even though both are great)

the british music press hypes bands that are completely unworthy of it.(blur, oasis, arctic monkeys, franz ferdinand)
most rap is crap(especially alternative/conscious/political rap)

i agree with your one statement; a good amount of current british music that gets hyped is just bull****

drum fills > drum solos

Nickelback get way too much hate; Creed doesn't get enough

the Sugarhill Gang was ****ing great

Jaco Pastorious was a magnificent and uniquely beautiful musician, but he was also an egotistical smartass and it was a near miracle that he lived as long as he did. and yes, i know he had mental problems/was on drugs

Flea is not the best bassist. same for John Entwistle. they're both really good, mind you, but nowhere near being the best in music.

John Entwistle had skills, not arguing that, but i hate his tone in some songs

any popular artist who dies early is bound to have
-an increase in record sales
-a slew of new "fans" who only know them for a few songs but will worship and talk about them endlessly, not knowing anything about what they stood for
-alot more hype for their music than they ever deserved

That's hardly an unpopular opinion.
