The recording techniques of dsotm may be innovative (although a bit exaggerated by the press and fans) but the music makes me want to bash my brain in. WYWH is so emotional, at least for me. I can understand why someone wouldn't enjoy it though. |

I think you'd have a harder time defending the Genesis position but Wind and Wuthering makes for a good case.
Lamb's my favorite though.

Is turning that statement around into "Peter Gabriel was better without Genesis" an unpopular opinion?

I think the world is better off without any of them.

I actually thought it was popular opinion to rank Pinkerton as Weezer's best album, but the internet has proven me wrong. Apparently The Blue Album is still the overwhelming favorite. And while I love both albums, I disagree. Pinkerton is by far my favorite album from Weezer. I like the rawer noisier sound of Pinkerton over the glossier production of Blue (though it definitely sounds great and results in a lot of great hook filled power pop), and Pinkerton is one of the most emotionally honest and intensely personal albums I've ever listened to, which I deeply appreciate. I mean, they're both two of my all time favorites, but I have to give the edge to Pinkerton.
