Hold the phone. Not saying I was wrong, but I'm going through The Slim Shady LP again and am unwilling to downplay it. I love Em. But as a songwriter I think he was at his best on The Eminem Show and just ****ing ripped on Relapse, even if he was in fullest force on Slim Shady and Marshall Mathers.

yeah all those songs are great

"Without Me", "Drips", "When the Music Stops", "White America", "Til I Collapse", "3 Am", whatever

****, "Superman" is great too

the ratio of what I like gets out of whack after MMLP

If you don't like the same ratio of songs on Relapse then you should check it out again without looking at it as an album that should sound like his first three. Relapse is an album that is one long, bitchin' flow of amazingness, along with being the best horrorcore album ever... possibly besides Riddlebox. And also Dre on crack.

Enough to know that Relapse ****s on that. It's not all about explicit lyrics. It's called "horror"core, not "explicit"core. Relapse is way more atmospheric and disturbing than any horrorcore album I've heard. The realism of the metaphor of his pill addiction making him a monster combined with his sick AND talented lyrics combined with Dre's atmospheric production pretty much nailed a horrorcore sound that all of those mediocre horrorcore rappers could never dream of.



Pretty much the perfect combination of Eminem's humorous, autobiographical lyrics with horrorcore's disturbing imagery. All the cannibalism lyrics from Brother Lynch Hung can not **** with that. And that flow is god damn ****ing crack. I could listen to the sound of Eminem rapping on this song for years.

If you mean that it sounds like a generic 90s horrorcore/cheap gangsta rap song that desperately wishes it was an Esham song, then yes, it's nice.
