I know it's a lot easier to take a cheap jab at me than it is to explain what, in your opinion, separates him from his hip hop peers but the request is still on the table.

I apologise, it wasn't a legitimate attack on your taste. Just a lazy joke.

What seperates Danny straight off the bat is his voice. That high pitch, almost screaming, tone is without peer in the Hip Hop world. You couldn't mistake him for anyone, especially when he's about to hop on a track and shouts something randomly (ala "Check!" on Oh Hail No). He also has a deep register that is usually used on more reflective and somber tracks.

Aside from DOOM I don't think there's been a rapper that's able to rap over pretty much any beat and make it work. This new albums shows this ability more than any of his previous work. EDM, boom bap, trap, post-punk or whatever he's given. He has an incredible ear for production, and some of the weirdest and experimental beats you are likely to hear.

Not to mention that he's dope as f*ck.

Dillinger Escape Plan got better with every release, and their latest release is the best thing they've done.

Yes this means I think Calculating Infinity is their worst.

I listened to "Old" maybe because it was on your top ten through the years list. I like it but I think I need a closer listen to get what you're talking about. What's his best record?

XXX gets a lot of acclaim (and rightfully so), but his latest, Atrocity Exhibition, is a lot stronger imo.

I'll have to check the new one out. I like XXX and Old but don't love them. Maybe the new one will click with me a little more.

XXX has better songs, but it's inconsistent. Atrocity Exhibition feels more complete as an album.

How the West was Won is the best live album of all time.

Jesus, listen to Bonham on this. Dude was an absolute beast of a drummer.
