That isn't very unpopular opinion, in fact it is very common for people to think music sucks, especially when it comes to music outside their main interest. Sometime it seems like there is nothing good out there to listen to that's new, (music that is recently new or music you haven't heard of before which is new to you). Sometimes it's like you can't go wrong.

The best David Bowie album is the Labyrith soundtrack.

I feel like only one particular poster in here might possibly agree.

I will agree that he's the king of filler.

It's pretty rare that I think that any albums have filler.

Part of the reason for that is that I don't use "filler" as a synonym for "song I don't like so much." I use "filler" more or less "literally"--something the artist came up with quickly/in a half-assed way solely because they needed to fill time on an album they didn't otherwise have enough material for. "Filler" is when the suits from the record company say, "You guys only have 25 minutes of material here--you've got only two days to finish the album, because we can't miss your release date." So the artist says, "Alright, Emi to Ami and just jam for 10 minutes" and that's a tune.

But even if I used "filler" in the way most people seem to use it, it's pretty rare that I think that quality varies significantly on albums, too.

Those skits on Outside are filler to me, but mostly because I generally don't care about stories.

Solely as a vocalist, Bowie is not near the top of my list; I'm not sure where I'd rank him, but I do like his vocals a lot, and yeah, they're perfect for his music.

As a musical artist overall, though, Bowie is in my top 20 or close to it.

What sort of number is almost no one?

5?

1?

100?

100,000?

Is it a percentage?

I have listened to the following in full and I'm not even a fan.

Hunky Dory
Aladin Sane
Blackstar
Ziggy Startdust
Earthling.
