I think the biggest problem with the genre is that almost none of those bands know how to compose good symphonic music, whis kind of defeats the purpose. Also, the singers usually try (and fail) to sing in a "classical" style. I know I said Nightwish were ok, but I like them for the power metal, pop, folk music and prog stylings, not for the strings and pseudo-operatic vocals (which is why Anette, not Tarja, was the best).

I feel like people in a band like Nightwish probably have a lot of weird knick knacks in their houses.

And people in black metal bands have corpses and dead animals in their houses. What's your point?

Tarja was the best. Anette just sounds like a low rent Amy Lee. If I wanted to listen to Evanescence then I would.

Houses filled with those knick knacks usually stink too. Like cat piss.

Ah, wait a minute. People are talking about Nightwish. I kept thinking they were talking about Night Ranger.

Pretty sure I've never even heard of Nightwish before.

"Magical Omaha"--wasn't that Jean Stothert's campaign slogan?
