I usually don't listen to whatever the **** I want.
I listen via a combination of OCDish systems, randomly generated picks, and stuff I have to listen to for gigs. It's pretty rare that I listen to anything by whim. |

Listening to Fillmore West 1969: The Complete Recordings, notably "Death Don't Have No Mercy" and a couple others, I can see where he'd get prog.

I don't really like most rock music because the singing is so boring to me. Not very melodic. Usually just meanders about in the close vicinity of a root note (not trying to use correct musical terminology here, so I may be misleading in my phrasing) for the verse, then a bit louder/more high pitched for the chorus. Roxy Music and PJ Harvey are the closest to "real" rock music that I like, the rest is metal and various hard-to-define styles and random picks from all sorts of genres. Seems to me most music geeks love the rock canon, but I just can't see the point, usually.
(Since I hate almost everything: Yes, finding new stuff I like is a struggle, but I manage to do so semi-frequently, somehow.) Last edited by MicShazam; 08-08-2016 at 06:40 PM. |
