Re the Rush posts, my top five would probably be:
Fly by Night Hemispheres Hold Your Fire Presto Signals . . . Not sure of the order, though. I just listed them in alphabetical order. And if I were to include live albums, All the World's a Stage would bump one of those out (probably Fly by Night because of the duplicated material). I love Different Stages, too, but that seems like it shouldn't really be part of a list like that. Permanent Waves would be my top bubbling under studio album choice. Also re the keyboard comments, it doesn't really matter to me what the instrumentation of anything is. And there aren't any timbres that I categorically dislike. But not only that--keyboard is one of my primary instruments (drums/percussion and bass are the others); I'm a huge Yes fan (including their 80s material), I'm a huge ELP fan, I'm a big fan of early Rick Wakeman solo albums, early Devo, early Residents (well, through the mid 80s at least), etc., so no keyboard sounds are going to dissuade me. There was a point in my life when I could play that entire album note for note on the guitar. We use to do La Villa Strangiato as an encore. It always KILLED.

Another set of unpopular opinions I hold:
The best Miles is fusion Miles (okay, maybe that part isn't so unpopular), and the best fusion Miles begins with The Man with the Horn and runs through Doo-Bop. Star People is the best Miles album. After that, I'd rank his Gil Evans collaborations second. Then the rest of his 60s output in general. After that, I'd rank his other fusion albums, the other 70s albums basically, but Bitches Brew would be at the bottom of those. I do like 50s and earlier Miles, too, but I prefer pretty much every other album listed above, except perhaps for Bitches Brew. Unlike with most other artists, my Miles album ranking would more or less list every album in each of the categories above before moving to the next category. Which means that the two most beloved Miles albums, Kind of Blue and Bitches Brew, are both pretty far down my list, below albums like Aura, You're Under Arrest, Big Fun and Water Babies. |

Crazy Frog's Crazy Hits was tolerable. Could've been a lot better, but it could've been worse. At least Crazy Frog's "We Are the Champions" didn't appear on.

I wasn't arguing for aything like that. I was just thinking of someone reading my comment and wondering to themselves, "Hmm, I wonder if this guy likes any avant garde stuff etc." So I was answering before anyone asked.

Kiss was nothing more than a pop band with a large special effects budget.
