We get it, it's one of the two and a half albums you and your sister were allowed to rub off to in the 1870s or whatever. There are far more deserving Floyd albums to gain dsotm's status, though.

Saying DSOTM is overrated is similar to saying Bowie is overrated. They are not overrated. They are just too often over-hyped by bandwagon fans. It's just too damn trendy to adopt this. And ya, there's a number of bands that have a handful of albums that can be debated as which is the epic masterpiece. Example would be the Stones with Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, and Exile. All ****ing masterpieces.

Umm...okay then, they're not whatever you think overrated means, then.

Why? ... because it doesn't sound like Babymetal?

I like DSotM a lot but it is definitely not among the GOATs like some people try to claim

Yorke and Frown, what were the albums that turned the music world upside down when you were both in your mid teens?

What is the difference between overhyped and overrated? To me, DSOTM probably is overrated. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great album, but I don't know if any album can live up to the kind of hype that surrounds that album.

741 consecutive weeks on the Billboard top 200 album list. 741!?!?!? 50 million copies estimated to be sold worldwide. DSOTM blew the doors off when it first came out and it's continued to blow people away for decades. I consider it an absolute masterpiece with very few peers in the overall general rock genre. Of all of the dad rock albums I've exposed my son to DSOTM is the one he completely agrees is brilliant. But that's just my and his opinion. Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town Waiting for someone or something to show you the way Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today And then one day you find ten years have got behind you No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking Racing around to come up behind you again The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older Shorter of breath and one day closer to death Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say Home, home again I like to be here when I can When I come home cold and tired It's good to warm my bones beside the fire Far away, across the field The tolling of the iron bell Calls the faithful to their knees To hear the softly spoken magic spell
