You shut your whore mouth right now.

Only kidding. He's made brilliant music but a lot of people highly over value his music contributions, tho he has made a fair amount.

Don't think Bowie is overrated, but I disagree when people are calling him a huge musical innovator. He mostly followed already existing trends, although he did then utilize them in awesome and exciting ways.

Ever since he died he did become a bit overrated, it has become a trend to praise his legacy and a bunch of poseurs are riding that trend by posting his hit songs pretending they were fan of him just cause they liked 'Heroes' or 'space oddity' or some sh*t like that.

Simply put it has become trendy to be a superficial Bowie fan and i think it's those ppl who are making him overrated.

For sure there have been plenty of grief junkies jumping on the bandwagon but he isn't overrated.

This seems to happen with every celebrity death.

Maybe later on but he was the innovator that people followed in the beginning.

What musical innovations would you attribute to specifically him?

He made space songs sound trippy and cool, that oughta count for something.
