Tool's biggest problem is that they peaked with their first big hit. They never did anything better than Sober. Plus they had a habit of taking what would have been good 4 minutes songs and dragging them on forever.
Still a great band though.

Yeah I'd say it's less exciting than 36 chambers for sure. I just love the ambiance of it more.

Everything up to 10000 Days is nothing short of fantastic. They are pretty consistent at releasing albums that are deep and well thought out. Their long "dragged out" songs are some of their best imo. The combination of Wings for Marie and 10000 days on that album are two of their best songs ever.
