Implying that I don't listen to girly music clearly shows his ignorance of my taste, and regardless of how much I listen to classical it doesn't take an expert to know that good stuff is being ignored.

I have no particular interest in arguing Nea's points, but for some reason he just decides to take random things personally and that pleases me far more than some boring debate. I'm not entirely sure when this change happened, as he was a happy-go-lucky jokester for a while, but then all of a sudden he decided to shove a stick up his own ass. More fun for me I guess.

Edit: Besides. I love tired memes. "All your base are belong to us" is pretty much the best thing ever.

They're too much of a gimmick for my enjoyment to last past the day or so when the novelty was still charming. I've actually spent money on Natalie Imbruglia albums though. Note the "s" at the end of "albums".

I kinda agree but it's not that they're ridiculous, some metal sub genres are appropriately named my problem with it is that, enough is enough!

Sure you can make anything into a metal sub genre but that doesn't mean you should.. they're gonna flood the whole metal genre pretty soon if they haven't already..

This doesn't make sense. The sub genres are there to help categorize different bands. You wouldn't call The Sword "Rock", when its obviously Stoner Rock, etc etc. It helps. Same goes for death metal, progressive metal, doom metal.

Been meaning to respond to this for some time now.

Ask the average person to name three classical composers. Chances are, you'll hear Beethoven, Mozart, and Bach. Those three are like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Led Zeppelin of classical music. However, most of those people would only be able to hum a brief snatch of Beethoven's 5th, a brief snatch of Beethoven's 9th, and maybe "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". Anyone who's into classical music is familiar with both other, less notable composers from their eras and possibly the current. Just as anyone who's into rock music is aware of The Kinks.

I said "possibly the current" earlier because just as you don't expect a metalhead to enjoy sludge metal, power metal, black metal, folk metal, death metal, and grindcore, or a jazz listener to enjoy big band, free jazz, cool jazz, acid jazz, and Afro-Cuban jazz, you shouldn't expect a classical listener to enjoy Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist, and opera. The term "classical" refers to such a large umbrella of styles that it's unreasonable to expect anyone to enjoy it all.

Again, for the umpteenth time, no way you are only 15-16.
