If I want random hippy noodling I'll listen to Hawkwind.

It might be random hippy noodling but at least it's random hippy noodling with Lemmy on bass.

Goofle said it a few pages back, but I want to just say that I really dislike the Disintegration Loops.

Bummer. I find that to be more of an experiment than actual music. The whole story behind it fascinates me way more than the music itself.

Yeah, my issue is mostly the music itself - it's pretty but it doesn't really change enough to execute the concept fully. The story is cool, but it ends up striking me as a failed experiment because of my issues with the music. I also don't love the association with 9/11 that it has and I have little respect for Basinski because of how he's embraced that association.

That said, I do like a decent amount of music that sounds like the album (like the Caretaker).

Caretaker is fantastic.

People from NYC/NJ have a morbid obsession with 9/11. That doesn't make us special, just a reason behind the association.

Same here. I suffered through them just so I can say I've listened to them.

See, that is something I can just never manage to do. If I have to "suffer through" music, I just turn it off. I just cannot bring myself to purposely listen to something I dislike.
