I like a bit of the stuff my parents liked. My dad has a load of post-punk records which I do love, but he also likes 80s synth pop, which ain't bad, but not fabulous either.
I suppose getting into blink-182 when I was 12 or something, just introduced me to a world of more and more interesting music. I stilll love blink-182, but there is so much more I love which is so experimental and different from anything in the mainstream really! |

I`d say my mother
Not in the sense of actual bands but the way she listened to music. She had a really wide & varied taste with bits of anything & everything in it. As I said in another thread we wern`t your typical classic rock family , there were no Pink Floyd or Led Zep or Queen albums in my parents record collection when I was growing up.It was all 50s rock n roll , classical , glam rock , pop , motown , reggae & synth pop singles. |
this friend of mine from 6th grade got me into rock music with the whole sum 41 phase
then random people from this board broadened my music tastes & of course my father playing 80s rock music constantly stuck with me & now im the music guru to all my friends :D |
I feel bad for your friends.

well for me, i got my music taste from my dad, my mom was no infulence what so ever only thing she listened to was country, my dad listened to the GNR, Metallica, AC/DC, stuff like that, it was only after a few years did i start to listen to the older stuff and thats what stuck
