Battle of the bands???
So, my band have won numerous 'Battle of the Bands' competitions, and here's how.
We turn up at practise and I announce to the other band members that today we are having a 'Battle of the Bands' with our band competing against all of the other bands in the practise studios. Obviously, I only tell our band this. We play our little hearts out and boy do we play well. All of those listening (only us, most of the time) like what they hear and surprise, surprise, when votes are collected (only we vote, of course) it is announced that we are the winners of the Battle of the Bands and we each recieve an Irn Bru as a prize. My question here is, how is this any less biased or insignificant a result than any other 'Battle of the Bands' competition? Answer me! |

That's why you need to host your own! They're all rigged anyway, the band that knows the organisers, is managed by the organisers, goes out with one of the organisers etc. they always win. So you might as well have your own at the next band practise. To make it sound more official, all you need to do is give it an official-sounding name.
So far we've won the Selly Oak Battle of the Bands, the Rich Bitch Battle of the Bands, the Birmingham University Unofficial Battle of the Bands, the Bristol Road Battle of the Bands, the Meditech Battle of the Bands, the Revival Sounds Battle of the Bands and the list keeps growing. In fact, tonight I might go home, pick up my guitar and win another Battle of the Bands. No, can't wait that long, I'll go into the toilet at work, sing and that can be the Battle of the Bands, sponsored by the EU, that I'll be winning. Battle of the Bands are a joke, so by doing this its hardly devaluing it. |

actually we would of won the first one if they wouldnt of unplugged us according to the band that ended up winning which if i remember correctly was Subject Mad, which are friends of ours and a good band none the less..but they said we were using too much foul language (hehehehe) and shut down the PA in the middle of our second song, so we kept playing and just had to scream a little louder, moments later we lost all power and they threatend to call the cops to have us removed if we didnt leave on our own.
