New Genre for me...wanting some advice

I have just started getting into a lot of different music. I guess it's not really a genre thing. It started with Coldplay and has worked it's way into Keane, Snow Patrol, Mogwai, Elliott Smith, e.t.c. I am looking to get into more music like that. What I require is music that could move you just by closing your eyes, for example: Jimmy Eat World-23 or Snow Patrol-Run. I also have to have imeccable lyrical content that speaks to the soul even if you have never experienced what the artist is pouring out of his heart, for example: Elliott Smith, The Fray-Look after you, just about anything Tori Amos, e.t.c. If anyone could recommend any music like this that I may not have heard or songs by artists I have already named I would appreciate it. Music is a passion for me and I require all that I can soak in. As a bonus, I am absolutely smitten with anything with a violin in the background or foreground. Thank you to all who respond

Honestly, I'm not real sure what I am looking for either. The range is quite vast. Examples: "Keane-Atlantic" to "Damien Rice-Delicate" to "Mogwai-Tracy" to "Tori Amos-Winter" to "Snow Patrol-Run (I love this song)" to "The Fray-Look after you". These are all very different types of music. I guess what I am really looking for is anyones opinion of beautiful music. I will try anything. By the way, Bright eyes is incredible especially for the age at which he wrote his earlier records. Any other ideas would be great and if you have access to some of the songs I mentioned, listen to them and you will get a feel for what I am talking about. Thanks guys
