All emo is trendy, even the 90s stuff and so on. In terms of post rock Godspeed You! Black Emperor is possibly the most boring an uninspired bands I have heard, listening to them makes me want to die because they are so horrible.

But it should be said, your hate for emo is a waste of time, Crowquill can easly explain why you're misinterpreting what emo actually is, either way, I'd take Fall Out Boy over any of the Indie bands I have mentioned so far.

Except Sonic Youth and Pixies, though their fans are generally still idiots.
