Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Black Crowes are pretty good.

Coliseum, Doomriders, Young Widows, Pusher, Lords. Those are good bands.

Lords are fantastic, I heard them about a month ago from a friend at governors school.

My faves are Charlie Daneals Band & Lynard Skynard.

How about Lucero out of Memphis? Also, they're not Southern by origination, but this band out of Detroit called Dead String Brothers is really awesome. They make alt-country like it's supposed to sound. :)
