There is no real answer. Hardcore fans hate best ofs cause they usually leave out important songs. Best of cd is a good way to get to know a band or a singer, but most of the times if you don't listen to the studio albums you can't really appreciate them.

I think best of cds are a good Idea, but new songs on a best of are a serious no-go, cause It means if you want those songs you have to buy an album of songs you already have for the one or two you don't have. They're good in you're just getting into a band and you want an overall sound, but not if you are a die hard fan who has all of their other albums.

I have some mixed feelins. in many I would find the most known songs of a band or of more bands (in compilations). This would make me be interested in the band more and I did discover some nice artisst this way
